I am currently a Professor of Music and coordinator of the music
program at the Northern Essex
Community College in Haverhill, Massachusetts where I teach music
synthesis, music theory, aural skills, music performance, and other
courses. For more information about those classes click here.
Before teaching at NECC, I was the Director of Music and Arts
at the Eno River Unitarian Universalist
Fellowship (ERUUF) in Durham, North Carolina, where I directed
several choirs and lead musical and artistic events at the Fellowship.
Previous teaching experience includes being the Chair of the Fine and
Performing Arts Department at Lyndon State College in Vermont and the
Head of the Music Department at Waycross College in Georgia.
I received a Bachelors of Music Education at James Madison University
in Harrisonburg, Virginia and a Masters of Music at Radford University
in Radford Virginia. I also went on to receive a Ph.D. in music theory
and composition at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
I remain active as a composer, singer, director, teacher, and writer.
My hobbies include Aikido, kayaking, and improv comedy.
